Q - I am using a wholesaler to fulfill some orders but I also want to fulfill some myself in-store. Can I split the workflow?
A - Yes. You can utilize your existing printers to fulfill some work in store and send the rest of your orders to a wholesaler for fulfillment. If you are fulfilling creative merchandise orders (doesn’t apply to digital prints) yourself, you will need to recharge credits through your Digital Control Module (DCM) or Whitech’s website. Each time you fulfill an order your credits will deplete to reflect a percentage of the RRP. This is the way third party royalties are paid back to Whitech. For more information on credits, please contact us.
Q - How are the orders generated?
A - A customer uses the kiosk to place the order as usual. The order is transferred from the kiosk to the Digital Control Module computer (DCM), which acts as a job server. The DCM computer must be connected to the Internet. The order is then sent electronically through Whitech’s network to a wholesaler or to equipment in store for processing, depending on your preferred workflow.
Q - What is a DCM?
A - The Digital Control Module, or DCM is a program that operates on a normal computer. It manages the workflow of jobs received through the kiosks and home ordering (CREATIVE@HOME). The DCM tracks each job and sends it to the relevant places for fulfillment and printing. It will also track work for billing purposes and send the appropriate data back to a wholesaler and Whitech (where applicable). If you are operating on a credit system, the DCM will also be able to track your credits and advise you when you need to purchase more. You will be able to burn photo movie DVDs on this DCM computer (if it has a DVD burner installed).

Q - Why do I need 20GB of free space on my kiosk?
A - The new creative functions include many new templates for customers to choose from, including ones for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, babies, holidays in different themes and styles. These template files can be quite large and to ensure you can offer your customers the variety of albums 20GB of free space needs to be available on each kiosk.

Q - How do credits for movies work? How can I get more?
A - The new creative function, Photo Movies is licensed from a company called muvee. As a result, each time a customer orders a photo movie a license fee must be paid to muvee in USD. To allow you to offer this service on all kiosks in store and track each order a user pay system has been implemented.
Q - Is it safe to purchase credits online?
A - Your payments will be taken through PayPal, which is widely recognised around the world as a secure way to purchase online. Retailers can purchase credits through their DCM computer. Alternatively, you can set up a group account. Payments using a group account can be made from any computer connected to the Internet.
Q - I want to offer Photo.Teller™ CREATIVE@HOME (home ordering). What do I need to do?
A - You will need to ensure that you have a DCM dongle to offer your customers the use of Photo.Teller™ CREATIVE@HOME. You can still opt to have the certified wholesale fulfillment center fulfill all of your orders. If you already have a dongle for your kiosk you can use the same dongle for CREATIVE@HOME You can choose to enable it from the DCM computer.
Q - Can you tell me ways I can get the most capacity out of the equipment I already have?
A - Yes! A good idea you can explore is placing kiosks in other sites. For example, if your store is the local photo shop there is no reason why you can’t place additional kiosks in other stores like pharmacies, video stores, coffee shops, hotels and copy centers and send all the orders back to your store to be fulfilled. Orders can also be directed to a fulfillment center. You can successfully extend your business in this way.
