How To install Plesk in Centos
In many occasions we engaged a servant to lodge our spaces Webs and by confusion we discovered that it does not have installed any graphical manager for webmasters, as it could be cpanel or plesk.
personally Plesk enchants to me, seems to me intuitive and professional much more that Cpanel, although this is a very personal opinion, and for taste the colors.
The question that arises to us then is: How to install Plesk in Centos? , or in any other operating system Linux that this running in our server. I have created this tutorial for Centos, but for other operating systems she comes being more from the same, she only changes script of installation and little more.
Step by step To install Plesk
- In the first place we go away to the official page of Plesk and unloaded the version corresponding to the operating system of our server, (In this case Centos 5 of 64 bits).
to unload plesk 11
- Now we unloaded and we installed the application of Windows necessary to directly transfer files by SFTP to our servant, in this case we will use SSH Secure Shell Transfer.
to unload SSH SFTP
Once unloaded we installed the small application and we connected with our server to copy the file of installation of plesk in him (with the IP who corresponds to our server and the user root, keys ssh).
Later we raised the file the way server exactly just as if outside a current FTP, but to remember we are using the SSH protocol, because FTP assumes that not yet it is installed.
- Once fact all this, we went to the terminal of our server, just located the transferred file, we listed it with ls - to see its properties and we give to permissions 777 or +x him for its execution with chmod 777 name of the file.
In order to finalize we executed script resulting with ./nombrefichero
The installation will take a rat, since plesk contains many packages, as apache, mysql, php, FTP, qmail, bind and a long etc. During the installation will ask several times to us that if we accepted the terms and some very simple questions.
- Now we come to verify that the port where works plesk by defect 8443 is running, for it we executed in the terminal: nmap localhost, to visualize all the ports opened in our server. If nmap is not installed they execute the commando previously: yum install nmap .
In this image we see perfectly as this running port 8443, so now we are going to open plesk from our navigating Web to verify and to finalize that all this OK.
Now we have an additional problem, and is that we do not have nor pajolera idea of what is password. Calm we can see it with this commando: /usr/local/psa/bin/admin show-password, of this form will print password to us plesk in screen, as we observed in the following image.
